Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FanRiot application and website (the "Service") operated by FanRiot ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use FanRiot. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. FanRiot is not directed at or intended for users under the age of 18.

2. Your Account

You may use FanRiot anonymously or by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating a profile.
• Not impersonate any person or entity.
• Not share your account credentials with others.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use FanRiot to:

• Post content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, or obscene.
• Spam, flood, or repeatedly post the same content.
• Share personal information of other users without their consent.
• Attempt to hack, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the Service.
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
• Impersonate FanRiot, its employees, or other users.
• Post content that infringes on intellectual property rights.

4. Content You Post

You retain ownership of the content you post on FanRiot. By posting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating FanRiot.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. We are not responsible for user-generated content and do not endorse any opinions expressed by users.

5. Moderation

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service or its users. Zone hosts have limited moderation rights within their own zones.

6. Intellectual Property

The FanRiot name, logo, and all Service content created by us (excluding user-generated content) are our intellectual property. You may not use, copy, or distribute them without our prior written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

FanRiot is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. Sports data (scores, match times) is sourced from third parties and may not be 100% accurate or real-time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FanRiot and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or any harm resulting from content posted by other users.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FanRiot and its operators, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your use of or access to the Service.
• Any content you post, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Service, including messages, voice communications, and GIFs.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any rights of another person or entity, including intellectual property rights or privacy rights.
• Any claim that your content caused damage to a third party.

We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defence of that claim.

10. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice or liability. We may also update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, Canada. If you are accessing the Service from outside Canada, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws.
