FanRiot ("we", "us", or "our") operates the FanRiot mobile and web application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using FanRiot you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and optionally your name and email address from Apple. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. If you use anonymous sign-in, no personal information is required.
• Profile information: The nickname, country, and favourite club you choose during onboarding.
• Messages and content: Chat messages you send in Fan Zones are stored so other users in the same zone can see them.
• Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
• Usage data: Which matches and zones you visit, to personalise your experience and improve the app.
• Push notification tokens: A device token used to send you match alerts (goals, kick-off, full time). This token is not shared with third parties for marketing.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the FanRiot service.
• To display your nickname and country badge alongside your messages.
• To send you push notifications for match events you follow.
• To enforce our moderation rules and keep the community safe.
• To understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
• To respond to support requests you send us.

3. Third-Party Services

FanRiot uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Supabase: Database, authentication, and real-time messaging infrastructure. Data is stored in Supabase's managed Postgres database. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Google): Push notification delivery via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Firebase Privacy Policy.
• LiveKit: Voice pod audio streaming. Audio is not recorded or stored. LiveKit Privacy Policy.
• Sign in with Apple: Optional authentication method. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• GIPHY: GIF search and delivery. GIF content is served from GIPHY's CDN. GIPHY Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: Web hosting infrastructure. Vercel Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We may share data only:

• With the service providers listed above, to operate the app.
• If required by law, court order, or government authority.
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of FanRiot, our users, or others.

5. Data Retention

Your account and profile data is retained for as long as your account is active. Chat messages in fan zones are retained while the match room is active and for a short period after it closes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Age Requirement

FanRiot is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from persons under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

FanRiot is operated from British Columbia, Canada. Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under your local privacy laws.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. You can also delete your account directly from within the app at any time.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security policies on our database, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of FanRiot after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
